Bengaluru: Former Karnataka Public Service Commission chairperson Shivashankarappa Sahukar, placed under suspension over alleged irregularities and corruption charges, appeared before Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Thursday.CID is probing the alleged cash-for-jobs racket connected to recruitment of 400 veterinary officers by KPSC. The agency had issued notices to Sahukar and 329 candidates, directing them to appear and make statements.Sahukar arrived at CID office in a private vehicle at 10.30am and returned after 2pm. “This was his first interaction with investigating officers. He was asked in detail about preparation and conduct of the exam, manner in which question paper was prepared and distributed, where optical marking recognition (OMR) sheets were placed and what security measures taken to safeguard them,” sources said.A senior officer said they collected footage from 25 CCTV cameras at KPSC office, particularly from Jan when exams for the posts of veterinary officers were held. “Some old footage has been auto-deleted after a six-month period while others stored in backup,” he added.
