The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the result of the Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2026.Candidates who appeared for the written examination held on July 19 can now check whether their roll number has been shortlisted for the next stage. The candidates who have qualified in the written exam will now have to appear for the Physical Standards Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET).The roll numbers of the shortlisted candidates have been given in the official result document released by UPSC. What shortlisted candidates need to do

The candidature of the shortlisted candidates is provisional. They will have to meet all the eligibility requirements before being considered for further stages.Candidates who have qualified for PST or PET must log in to the UPSC portal within 15 days of the written result. They have to update their details and educational qualification status and upload the required documents as proof. Candidates who do not complete this process will not be allowed to appear in the further stages of the examination.Candidates may also have to update details such as their postal address, higher educational qualifications, employment or service experience, preference of forces, marital status, parental details and other information, wherever applicable. They must then submit the online application form.Even candidates who have already uploaded all required information and documents must log in, check their details and finally submit the online application form. They should also take a printout of the submitted form, as it will be required at the PST/PET stage and for generating the e-Summon letter or e-Admit card for the Personality Test or interview.

PST and PET schedule

The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), which has been nominated as the nodal authority by the Ministry of Home Affairs, will inform shortlisted candidates about the date, time and venue of the PST/PET.The details will be uploaded on the SSB recruitment website. E-Admit cards will also be issued online, while candidates will receive information through their registered email IDs. Candidates have been advised to regularly check the SSB website and their email inbox, including the spam folder.Candidates appearing for the physical tests will have to carry their e-Admit card, a hard copy of the finally submitted DAF and a valid photo identity proof such as an Aadhaar card, driving licence, passport or voter identity card.

Documents for eligibility claims

Candidates will have to produce original documents supporting their eligibility and reservation claims at the Personality Test. These may include certificates related to age, educational qualification, community and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) status.Candidates seeking reservation or relaxation benefits under Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), EWS, Ex-Servicemen and other categories must produce the relevant original certificates issued on or before the closing date of the CAPF AC 2026 application, which was March 12, 2026.

What about candidates who did not qualify?

UPSC said the marksheets of candidates who did not qualify in the written examination will be uploaded on its website after the final result is declared, following the Personality Test. The marksheets will remain available for 30 days.Candidates will be able to access their marksheets by entering their roll number and date of birth. Those who want a printed copy can request it from UPSC within 30 days of the marks being displayed on the website.Candidates should regularly check the UPSC and SSB websites for updates on the physical tests and further stages of the CAPF AC recruitment process.
