PM to virtually address ‘Khelo India Samvad’ on Aug 27

Varanasi: On the occasion of National Sports Day-2026, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports will organise ‘Khelo India Samvad-Khel Ki Baat, Pradhan Mantri Ke Saath’ to engage youth in discussions on sports, fitness, talent development and nation-building.The event will be held at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith and Dhirendra Mahila P G College in the city on on Aug 27. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s virtual address will be telecast live at both the venues on the occasion.Deputy director, Mera Yuva Bharat, Varanasi, Vikas Singh, said a local-level ‘Yuva Samvad’ will be held after the PM’s address. Public representatives, local sports talents and youth will take part in the programme.Public representatives will share their views on sports and youth development, while local sports talents will interact with youths.A major feature of Khelo India Samvad will be the youth dialogue, giving young participants an opportunity to share ideas and suggestions on India’s sports ecosystem, development of sporting talent, youth leadership and the role of youth in building a developed India, said Singh. The suggestions received will be compiled through the designated process and forwarded further.The key themes of the ‘Yuva Samvad’ include strengthening India’s sports ecosystem, preparing sporting talent for 2036 Olympics, promoting youth leadership and participation in governance, and empowering youth.Participants will also be encouraged to register on the MY Bharat Portal. A QR code for the MY Bharat Suggestions Box will be made available to collect suggestions digitally. Information on the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2027 Quiz will also be shared during the programme.‘Khelo India Samvad’ is an important platform to connect youth with India’s achievements in sports, future opportunities and their role in the sporting sector, said Singh. He urged the youth and students of Varanasi to participate in the event in large numbers and share their ideas on sports, fitness and building a developed India.
