Mohali: Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann on Monday pitched Mohali as a leading technology hub in North India, saying the state was focusing on artificial intelligence, digital innovation and global capability centres to attract investment and create jobs.Mann made the remarks after meeting a delegation of the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) in Chandigarh. He invited NASSCOM to partner with the state’s startup incubator in Mohali and help strengthen its innovation ecosystem.He said Mohali offered world-class infrastructure, connectivity, skilled manpower, competitive business costs and policies such as the GCC Policy 2026, making it an attractive destination for global technology companies.“Mohali offers an unbeatable infrastructure mix, with world-class air, railway and road connectivity, top-tier medical facilities, high-performing educational institutions and ample availability of land. These strengths make Mohali an attractive destination for global companies and technology-driven investments,” Mann said.He said six universities in and around Mohali provided a strong talent pool, while institutions such as IIT and ISB added to Punjab’s skilled workforce. He added that multinational companies were showing considerable interest in investing in the state, particularly Mohali.Mann said Punjab was focusing on technology-driven transformation and emerging sectors to attract next-generation industrial investment. He also highlighted Invest Punjab, the state’s single-window system and end-to-end digitised public services as measures aimed at making it easier for businesses to invest and operate.He said Punjab was the first state to enact the Right to Business Act and claimed its single-window and digital governance models had been adopted by other states.Mann said the govt would continue to focus on attracting investment and creating employment opportunities for Punjab’s youth.
