Jaipur: Around 80 residents were evacuated from a six-storey apartment building on Kalwar Road Sunday afternoon after a fire broke out in its basement parking, damaging 12 motorcycles and three cars.The fire started around 2.45pm in the parking area of A-Block at Manglam City. Police said a short circuit was suspected to have triggered the blaze, which quickly spread to vehicles parked in the basement.Thick smoke billowed into the residential building, leaving several occupants struggling to breathe and triggering panic among residents. Kalwar police reached the complex after receiving information and, with the help of local residents, evacuated around 80 people from the building.Twelve motorcycles and three cars were completely gutted in the fire. Police said further details about the incident and the extent of the damage were being assessed.
