New admin hub opens as Mizoram pushes growth in Siaha
Mizoram CM Lalduhoma inaugurates the new deputy commissioner’s office building in Siaha

Aizawl: Mizoram CM Lalduhoma on Friday inaugurated the new deputy commissioner’s office building in Siaha of southern Mizoram.Expressing his happiness at inaugurating the new office, one of the district’s key govt establishments, Lalduhoma said, “This is a landmark development not only for Siaha district but for the entire Mizoram.He also thanked those who donated their land and property without seeking compensation, saying their contribution had made it possible to establish the DC office at a central location.The CM said Mizoram govt was undertaking several development projects in Siaha district, including general-pool govt quarters inside and outside the additional DC quarters; type-III general-pool quarters at the additional DC quarters; four type-III general-pool quarters each at Meisavaih site-I and site-II; a circuit house in Siaha; and an SDO (civil) office and quarters at Tipa.He also highlighted other ongoing projects in the district under various central govt schemes.Lalduhoma said that since the establishment of the state finance commission in Mizoram, the state govt, autonomous district councils and other local bodies had been functioning within their allocated shares and could not exceed them.Expressing concern over the financial difficulties faced by MADC, he said the govt intended to provide a one-time grant to help ease the council’s burden. He stressed the need for concerted efforts to develop the district and improve the lives of its people, and urged all stakeholders to support the state govt’s plans to ensure a strong and stable administration in MADC.The CM said the state govt was focused not only on short-term gains but also on long-term development and the preservation of resources. He urged all departments to carry out their work efficiently and called on NGOs and village councils in every village to help monitor the implementation of the projects.
