Dibrugarh: Dibrugarh University and Nagaland University signed an MoU on Thursday to strengthen academic and research ties.The agreement was signed by Dibrugarh University registrar Paramananda Sonowal and Nagaland University registrar Dr Abemo in the presence of Dibrugarh University vice-chancellor Prof Jiten Hazarika, faculty members and officials of both institutions.Speaking at the ceremony, Hazarika said, “Collaboration between universities in the northeast is essential if we are to build a strong, self-reliant knowledge ecosystem in the region. This MoU will pave the way for joint research projects, faculty exchange programmes and collaborative academic ventures. By pooling our academic and research strengths, both universities stand to gain immensely, and more importantly, our students and researchers will benefit from wider exposure and opportunities.”Under the MoU, the universities will collaborate on academic exchanges, joint research, innovation-driven projects and other programmes in areas of mutual interest. Officials said the partnership would deepen inter-university cooperation in the northeast and encourage similar collaborations among regional institutions.The ceremony concluded with both universities reaffirming their commitment to academic excellence and expanded research opportunities through sustained institutional partnership.
