HSGMC to thank Haryana CM for role in resolving Panjokhra Sahib row, say Mand has sought forgiveness
HSGMC expresses gratitude to CM Saini for helping settle the Panjokhra Sahib dispute.

Kurukshetra: Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC) president Jagdish Singh Jhinda on Thursday said the committee would soon express its gratitude to chief minister Nayab Singh Saini for his “significant contribution” towards resolving the Panjokhra Sahib issue.Jhinda said that after the release of the youths arrested in connection with International Anti Khalistani Terrorist Front president Gursimran Mand’s assault case, HSGMC would visit Gurdwara Sri Panjokhra Sahib in Ambala along with members of the sangat, representatives of farmer organisations and other groups that supported the community during the dispute, and thank the CM.Talking to media at HSGMC headquarters in Kurukshetra, Jhinda also thanked Union minister Manohar Lal Khattar, saying he had been monitoring the issue from the beginning and played an important role in facilitating a resolution.On a question about Mand, whom he described as the main person behind the controversy, Jhinda said Mand had sent a proposal to HSGMC seeking forgiveness. “If Mand apologised to the sangat through a video and in writing by Aug 23, HSGMC would forgive him,” he said.Jhinda said HSGMC would bear the entire medical expenses of youths injured in the lathicharge. He also announced that HSGMC had decided to provide a job to one member of the family of Surinder Singh, who got hit by Mand’s vehicle during the Panjokhra Sahib incident.The HSGMC chief, however, held the administration responsible for the lathicharge on Sikhs during the Ambala protest. He said the sangat had decided to end the protest after receiving assurances from CM, but police started using force before the protesters could disperse.
