Pune: Two boys were electrocuted around 7am on Wednesday after they came into contact with a live electrical supply inside their house at Rahu village in Daund taluka.The Pune Rural police identified the deceased as Om Nitin Bhoite (18) and Rohit Anil Bhoite (21), both residents of Sonawane Mala in Rahu. They were cousins. Om’s mother, Sonali (41), suffered burn injuries in the incident.“She is out of danger,” said an officer from the Yavat police station.The officer said preliminary investigations revealed that Om initially came into contact with the live electrical supply. When Rohit realised what had happened, he rushed to help his cousin and both got electrocuted.“Sonali noticed the incident. She received an electric shock while helping the two boys,” he said. The officer said relatives took the cousins to Yavat Rural Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.“The exact cause of the accident is being investigated. We have registered a case of accidental death and informed the electricity department about the incident,” the officer said.
