Ahmedabad: Gujarat education department, in collaboration with Children’s Research University (CRU), Gandhinagar, held a statewide programme under “Tarunya Saptah” for secondary and higher secondary school students as part of “SPARSH: Support Programme for Adolescent Resilience, Safety and Health”.The weeklong initiative focused on adolescent development, including physical, mental, emotional and social well-being. Experts from different fields interacted with students and spoke on life skills, values, self-confidence and awareness of social and national responsibilities.Education minister Pradyuman Vaja addressed students on “Understanding Adolescence” and urged them to avoid tobacco and other addictions, develop discipline, good conduct, and be responsible citizens.Minister of state for education Rivaba Jadeja also interacted with students, encouraging them to face challenges with confidence and use education and values to shape their personalities. CRU VC T S Joshi said adolescence is a sensitive phase, and timely guidance can support students’ personal development.The programme was livestreamed to schools across Gujarat with the support of district education officers. Students from govt, grant-in-aid and private schools took part.
