FIR after Bihar tourists assaulted at Kashi ghat
A video of the incident has surfaced on social media, purportedly showing several people beating the youths near Gate No. 2.

Varanasi: A group of tourists from Bhabua in Bihar were allegedly assaulted by security guards and some boatmen at Namo Ghat under Adampur police station late Monday. The injured tourists lodged an FIR at Adampur police station on Tuesday.A video of the incident has surfaced on social media, purportedly showing several people beating the youths near Gate No. 2.According to the complaint, Duresh Ansari (23), a resident of Bhabua, reached Namo Ghat around 10 pm with his friends Mohammad Raqib, Arman Farooqui and two others. After the ghat was closed for the night, the group headed towards the parking area through Gate No. 2. When they found the gate closed, they allegedly asked the security guard to open it, following which an argument broke out.The youths alleged that some security guards and boatmen surrounded them and assaulted them with sticks, kicks and punches. However, they managed to escape towards Rajghat and later informed Adampur police with the help of locals.Police reached the spot after receiving the information, but the miscreants had fled by then.The video shows several people surrounding the youths near Gate No-2 and repeatedly hitting them. A person wearing a security guard’s uniform is also seen allegedly assaulting one of the youths with a stick.ADCP Kashi Vaibhav Bangar said police have taken cognisance of the video and are identifying the accused.
