Chandigarh: Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon has written to Union labour and employment minister Mansukh Mandaviya seeking an Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) sub-regional office in Bathinda.Dhillon forwarded a representation from the ESIC Employees’ Union, Punjab Region, Chandigarh, and backed the demand, saying there was a long-standing need for an office in the Malwa region.He said lakhs of insured persons, pensioners, employers and other beneficiaries from Bathinda, Mansa, Muktsar, Barnala, Faridkot, Fazilka and adjoining areas currently had to travel to distant offices for ESIC-related work, increasing their time and expenses and causing difficulties in accessing essential services.
