Bengaluru: Healthcare technology and AI company CitiusTech has appointed Dhaval Shah as acting chief executive officer and Shyam Karunakaran as president as part of a leadership transition aimed at driving its next phase of growth and transformation.Shah, previously chief business officer for the medtech and life sciences businesses, takes over as acting CEO with immediate effect. Karunakaran, who led the Healthcare Payer and Platforms business, will assume broader responsibilities spanning enterprise strategy, markets, growth and execution.Rajan Kohli, CitiusTech’s CEO, will step down by the end of Aug to pursue other opportunities.The company said the appointments are part of its succession plan and come amid strong business momentum, with CitiusTech focusing on healthcare specialisation, AI-led transformation and delivering measurable outcomes for clients.“Dhaval and Shyam have been integral to that journey and today lead over 80% of our business,” said Dr William Winkenwerder Jr., chairman of CitiusTech. He said their client relationships, industry expertise and track record of scaling businesses position them to lead the company through its next phase of growth.CitiusTech said it delivered strong growth in FY26, placing its performance in the top quartile of technology services companies, with momentum continuing into FY27. The company is also seeing growing demand for healthcare-specific AI solutions and plans to expand those offerings.
