Bengaluru: A 72-year-old man died after falling from the 18th floor of an apartment building on Magadi Road Sunday afternoon. Police are yet to ascertain if it was an accidental fall or suicide.The deceased is Paramaeshwaraiah, who lived with his wife, children and grandson in the apartment.Police said Paramaeshwaraiah fell from the 18th floor, sustained severe injuries and died on the spot. The security guards and a few residents, who heard a huge noise, rushed towards the spot and found him dead in a pool of blood. A police officer said a chair had been placed on the balcony, and Paramaeshwaraiah is suspected to have climbed onto it before falling. “The family told us the chair had been kept there for cleaning. We are yet to ascertain whether he jumped or fell accidentally,” the officer said.Based on a complaint from the family, police have registered a case of unnatural death at KR Agrahara police station and are investigating. The body has been kept at the mortuary, and a postmortem will be conducted on Monday.
