Ahmedabad: A customer found a hair in the ghevar he bought from Gwalia Sweets on Sindhu Bhavan Road. The customer recorded a video and posted it on social media. After a formal complaint was lodged, AMC’s health and food safety department on Friday fined the restaurant Rs 10,000.According to information shared by Dr Tejas Shah, AMC’s deputy health officer, “A complaint was received regarding hair found in ghevar purchased from an outlet named Gwalia Sweets on the city’s Sindhu Bhavan Road. An on-site inspection was carried out by the AMC team. Under Section 32 of the Food Safety Act, a penalty of Rs 10,000 has been levied. The restaurant was also issued a notice directing it to take appropriate precautions to prevent such negligence in the future.”
