Palanpur: A 53-year-old man and his 20-year-old daughter were electrocuted at their home in Rasana village of Deesa taluka in Banaskantha district on Thursday evening.The incident occurred when the daughter, Amisha Thakor, went to hang clothes on an iron wire installed outside the house. She received an electric shock after current reportedly passed into the wire. Her father, Kanjiji Thakor, rushed to rescue her but was also electrocuted.According to the family, an iron angle installed for a ceiling fan had been used to support the wire for drying clothes. They alleged that current from the household electrical wiring had passed through the iron angle and reached the clothes-drying wire, resulting in the fatal accident.Their bodies were sent to Deesa Civil Hospital for postmortem examination.The family has alleged negligence on the part of the electricity department, claiming that they had previously approached officials seeking repairs to the electrical wires.
