Noida: Residents across various sectors in Noida and Greater Noida complained of low-pressure, poor-quality water supply for only one hour instead of three hours on Wednesday, impacting daily chores. Some of the affected areas include sectors 100, 51 and 27 in Noida and Sectors Beta 2, Alpha and Delta in Greater Noida and parts of Greater Noida West.President of Century Apartments, Sector 100 RWA, Pawan Yadav, demanded urgent action regarding the deteriorating water situation. Residents from other sectors also expressed frustrations over the consistently poor quality of drinking water for several days.Residents of Greater Noida West have been facing water shortfall for almost a month now, especially Mahagun Mywoods society. “While the current water requirement is 20 lakh litres per day, the society receives only about 3 to 4 lakh litres per day. The remaining supply is sourced from borewells and tankers,” said AOA vice president of Mahagun Mywoods society Ashutosh Singh Sikarwar. He also added that “the problem escalates over the weekends when demand peaks, with all family members present at home.”GNIDA manager Gaurav Baghel has assured residents that work has been underway for a permanent solution. However, residents remain sceptical as poor supply continues. A resident, Neelam Yadav, expressed frustrations over the temporary fixes and called for a comprehensive overhaul of old, dysfunctional pipelines to ensure a clean and reliable water supply.Moreover, as complaints extend beyond water quality to include issues like road conditions, drainage problems and frequent power outages, RWA general secretary of Sector Beta 1 Harinder Bhati expressed fear of unfulfilled daily needs, especially during important festivals like Shivaratri, raising alarm over the management of essential services.
