Ahmedabad: In a major civic sweep on Saturday, the civic body’s North West Zone solid waste management team intensified its crackdown on littering and banned plastic usage. After inspecting 90 establishments, officials issued notices to 71 units and collected Rs 33,900 in fines.Among those fined include Gujarat Enterprise, Sakshi Health Care, and Magic Masala. The units were sealed for non-compliance with waste rules. Authorities also seized 3kg of prohibited plastic during the drive. AMC officials stated that special morning and evening squads are now active to enforce public health bylaws and ensure city hygiene.
