Bhilwara: Badi Sadri Police Station in Chittorgarh district Monday acted promptly in the abduction of a nine-month-old infant girl and the theft of a mobile phone. Police recovered the child safely within 10 hours and also recovered the stolen mobile. One woman was arrested, another accused has been identified, and an investigation is underway.Chittorgarh SP Dharmendra Singh said the complainant reported that her husband works on a ‘pani puri’ cart in Maharashtra and she lives alone with her nine-month-old daughter. At about 1 pm, she boarded a bus to go to her parental home in Umarda, Pratapgarh district, and reached Badi Sadri. After her health worsened, she received a drip at a doctor’s clinic near the Badi Sadri municipal office. During this time, the child was playing nearby. A woman approached and began playing with the child. When the drip ended, the complainant found that both the child and her mobile phone were missing.After receiving the report, police formed a special team on the SP’s directions. The team reviewed CCTV footage from the area, questioned suspects, and detained Lalita, wife of Suresh Meena, currently living in Dhikdiya Khedi under Badi Sadri police station limits. During interrogation, based on her information, police recovered the abducted child and seized the mobile phone.The child was found within 10 hours in a groundnut field belonging to the accused woman’s father.
