Palanpur: The Special Pocso court in Aravalli sentenced a man to life imprisonment for raping and brutally murdering a five-year-old girl in a village in Dhansura taluka in 2023.According to the prosecution, the girl, who lived in the village, had gone to the house of the accused, a neighbour, to play. The accused raped the child and subsequently murdered her.Dhansura police registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.The trial was conducted before the Aravalli district special Pocso court.Public prosecutor D S Patel said, “Based on the evidence and arguments, judge K K Shukla convicted Jayanti Parmar of Kesharpura village in Dhansura taluka and sentenced him to life imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 70,000 and ordered Rs 5 lakh compensation to the survivor’s family.”
