Stalin urges Centre to withdraw FCRA Amendment Bill

Chennai: DMK president M K Stalin on Saturday urged Union govt to withdraw the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) Amendment Bill, 2026.Several Christian leaders called on Stalin at his residence and expressed appreciation for DMK’s opposition to the bill. In a statement, the former chief minister said a delegation of Joint Action Forum on Minorities, led by DMK MP P Wilson and comprising senior religious leaders from across the country, met Union home minister Amit Shah and sought action during the ongoing session of Parliament.“The forum urged the Centre to withdraw the FCRA Amendment Bill, 2026, repeal Section 15 of the Act, and refer the bill, along with a comprehensive review of the 2010 Act, to a joint parliamentary committee for detailed scrutiny,” Stalin said.
