Ahmedabad: Afternoon drizzle brought brief relief to parts of Ahmedabad on Friday, even as overcast skies kept conditions warm and humid across the city.The mercury touched 33.3°C, 1.2 degrees above normal, while the minimum of 26.7°C was 1.3 degrees above normal. Relative humidity eased marginally through the day, tapering from 76% in the morning to 63% by evening.The weather outlook has shifted slightly for the weekend. While earlier predictions indicated widespread light-to-moderate showers across Gujarat on Saturday and Sunday, updated forecasts point to localised rainfall, mostly confined to northern and eastern districts.Other parts of the state are likely to remain largely dry or receive only isolated spells of light rain.According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), light thunderstorms accompanied by light-to-moderate rain are expected in parts of Banaskantha, Vav-Tharad, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Arvalli, Panchmahal, Dahod, and Mahisagar.The change in conditions comes as a new low-pressure area is likely to form over the northwest Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours, according to IMD. The Western Disturbance, seen as a trough, is also active over north India, it added.
