Women tie rakhi to CM Gupta at Delhi Assembly

New Delhi: Women from different parts of Delhi Friday visited Delhi Legislative Assembly and tied rakhis to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta ahead of the festive occasion, expressing their appreciation for the govt’s women-centric initiatives.The women said that Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, providing financial support to eligible women and their families, had given a new meaning to the festival, adding that the scheme would help strengthen women’s confidence and provide greater financial security.Interacting with the women, Gupta said the rakhi was a symbol of trust, affection and responsibility. She said the dignity, safety and empowerment of women and girls remained among the govt’s key priorities. “The trust of women is the govt’s greatest strength,” Gupta said, assuring them that her govt would continue to implement schemes for women’s welfare, education, healthcare, self-employment and social security.The CM also said the govt would make efforts to ensure that benefits of welfare schemes reached every eligible woman, and wished them happiness, prosperity and a bright future.
