Heroin, along with arms, seized by Amritsar police
Amritsar: Amritsar Commissionerate Police has busted a cross-border narcotics and illegal arms smuggling module and apprehended five accused, director general of police (DGP), Punjab, Gaurav Yadav said.In his post on X on Friday, the DGP stated that the police have recovered 21.2 kg heroin, 970 grams ICE (methamphetamine), one illegal .30 bore pistol, and four live cartridges from the accused.The preliminary investigation revealed that the key accused was in direct contact with a foreign-based smuggler, who facilitated the smuggling of heroin and illegal weapons across the international border for further distribution, he said.Yadav said that an FIR has been registered at Airport police station and further investigation is underway.
