Vendors, e-rickshaws to go off NH 127B at Tamarhat
Traffic police carry out a road safety campaign

Dhubri: Traffic police have banned e-rickshaws and roadside vendors from NH-127B at Tamarhat to ease congestion and prevent accidents.The restrictions are part of a road safety campaign following increased traffic congestion and accidents on the newly laid highway, a police source said.NH-127B will connect to the under-construction Dhubri-Phulbari bridge.Traffic sub-inspector Abdur Rahim told TOI that the measures were aimed at raising awareness of traffic rules and preventing accidents.“Further, to minimise the risk of accidents, barricades have also been put up at several vulnerable stretches along the national highway.”The 401-km NH-127B runs from Srirampur in Assam’s Kokrajhar district to Nongstoin in Meghalaya. It includes the 19.282-km Dhubri-Phulbari bridge, described as Asia’s longest road bridge, according to a National Highways source.
