BENGALURU: A 32-year-old interior designer, bedridden for nearly two months after a severe bike taxi crash, has issued a legal notice to mobility aggregator Rapido, demanding full accountability and reimbursement of her medical expenses.Sani Krishna was injured on June 17 while commuting to work from Byrasandra to Domlur. According to the legal notice accessed by TOI, the bike taxi rider was allegedly operating the vehicle recklessly, leading to a collision that resulted in a tractor running over her.Krishna suffered seven fractured ribs, underwent emergency surgery to remove her spleen, and required facial reconstructive surgery. Currently recovering at her native home in Kozhikode, Kerala, she remains unable to walk.The legal notice demands that Rapido accept full responsibility for the accident, issue a written apology, and cover all past and future medical expenses.Krishna’s legal team criticised Rapido’s attempt to cap its liability at an insurance payout of Rs 1 lakh, arguing that the company advertises accident coverage ranging from Rs 17 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.While Rapido initially stated that it was investigating the incident and remained in contact with the family, Krishna’s relatives said no financial compensation, apart from a limited insurance payout, has been provided so far.
