GT Road accident victim dies; police hunt unknown driver
Victim was found critically injured in a road accident near Singhu Border in Sonipat

Sonipat: An unidentified man died during treatment at PGIMS, Rohtak, after being found critically injured in a road accident near Singhu Border in Sonipat.The victim was spotted lying unconscious on GT Road by a passerby, who alerted authorities.Gaurav Kumar, a resident of Garhi Brahman village, was returning to Sonipat from Delhi on his motorcycle when he noticed the injured man lying on the roadside.With the assistance of a companion, he shifted the victim to the Civil Hospital in Sonipat. The doctors there referred him to PGIMS Rohtak for advanced treatment. However, the man succumbed to his injuries during treatment.Following complaint by Gaurav, the police registered a case against an unidentified accused under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the BNS at Kundli police station.SHO Ravi Kumar confirmed the victim succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at PGIMS Rohtak.He said, “CCTV footage from the area is being scrutinised, and other technical evidence is also being examined to identify the offending vehicle and its driver. Efforts to identify the deceased are also underway.”Police officials said the body has been retained in the mortuary at PGIMS for 72 hours to facilitate identification. The deceased’s photographs have been circulated among police units, nearby police stations and other law enforcement agencies.
