TNNKullu: Two people were killed after a car plunged more than 200 metres into a gorge in Holi area of Bharmour sub-division in Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district on late Wednesday night.The deceased have been identified as Suresh Kumar (48) and Sanjay Kumar (35), both local residents.

The police said the two had gone to Hilling village for some work and the accident occurred at around 11pm when they were returning to their village Lamu.Near Hilling Nallah on the Lamu-Hilling road, the car they were travelling in went out of control and fell into a gorge, said the police.Local residents were the first to reach the spot and to inform the police. A police team later reached the site and with the help of villagers recovered the bodies from the gorge.Suresh Kumar is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son, while Sanjay Kumar is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. Police have initiated proceedings to hand over the bodies to the families after the post-mortem examination.A case has been registered and an investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the accident. The exact circumstances leading to the crash are yet to be established, said the police.
