Hyderabad: The state govt on Friday carried out a reshuffle of seven senior IPS officers, including the commissioners of Malkajgiri and Future City. Inspector general of police (special intelligence bureau) B Sumathi has been appointed commissioner of police, Malkajgiri, replacing Avinash Mohanty. Tarun Joshi has been named commissioner of police, Future City, succeeding G Sudheer Babu. Director general (vigilance and enforcement) Shikha Goel has been transferred and posted as principal secretary, home department. She will continue to hold additional charges as director of Telangana Cyber Security Bureau and director of Telangana Forensic Science Laboratory. In her place, additional director general of police (personnel) DS Chauhan has been posted as director general, vigilance and enforcement. Director general (Drugs Control Administration) Shahnawaz Qasim has been transferred as inspector general of police, multi-zone II. Mohanty will now head the DCA, while also holding additional charges as director of prohibition and excise and director of ACB. Inspector general of police (intelligence) Kartikeya will take on additional charge of IG (SIB), replacing Sumathi. Present Future City commissioner Sudheer Babu is set to retire at the end of April. Director general of police B Shivadhar Reddy is also expected to retire by the end of this month, prompting appointment of a new DGP soon.
