Dimapur: Dimapur: NSCN (IM) chairperson Q Tuccu accused the Centre of inciting its “surrogate Kuki mercenary forces” to fight the Nagas, as the group observed the 10th commemoration of the signing of the Framework Agreement on Monday.Tuccu alleged that colonial-based policies of some Indian leaders are still at play and that there are attempts to find an escape route to overturn the Framework Agreement.He appealed to NSCN cadres, Naga political groups and the Naga people to stand with one voice and one decision to resist the “colonial policy of India” and divisive forces that seek to derail this principle-based solution.Reaffirming that the agreement must remain the basis for resolving the Indo-Naga issue, Tuccu said any attempt to seek a solution apart from the agreement will be futile. “Anything that is deceitfully planned to go against the spirit and letter of the Framework Agreement is simply an act of betrayal of the mutual agreement,” he said.Tuccu called the signing of the historic Framework Agreement of Aug 3, 2015, between the Govt of India and the National Socialist Council of Nagalim the “Red Letter Day” in the history of the Nagas.Paying homage to the past revolutionary leaders, Tuccu said 10 years have passed since the Framework Agreement was officially signed in Delhi, recognising the unique history of Naga independence and the sovereignty of the Nagas. “It was mutually agreed to build a new relationship based on the foundation of the Framework Agreement,” he said.Tuccu said the agreement was an issue-based understanding between two entities and warned that rejecting it would push the sides back towards confrontation, political upheavals and economic stagnation.He lamented that though 10 years have passed since the signing of the agreement, it has faced deliberate delay in finalisation.Tuccu also expressed concern over what he described as deliberate delays in finalising the agreement, saying the Govt of India is becoming unsteady and that there are attempts to interpret the Framework Agreement according to their interest and convenience.
