Hyderabad: Alleging both Congress and BJP deceived the youth on recruitment, BRS working president KT Rama Rao said the Congress govt had promised a job calendar and fill two lakh jobs a year. While there are 20,000 vacancies in the police department, only 7,000 were notified. “This is not a job calendar; it is a jobless calendar,” he said. The govt had failed to provide even 10,000 jobs in two years.Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan on Monday, KTR said that even the job calendar presented in the legislature had become meaningless. He said an employed youth Venu Kumar, who is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital after allegedly attempting suicide out of distress over what he believed were unfulfilled promises.KTR demanded that the assembly session be held for 15 days and said the BRS would question the govt in the assembly on behalf of unemployed youth. He appealed to unemployed people not to lose confidence and urged the government to fulfill the promises made to students and unemployed youth, saying it should first complete the work already in its hands.“The Congress had deceived the youth before the 2023 assembly elections through various declarations. The youth in the state were frustrated and questioned what had happened to the job calendar announced by the Congress. The youth Venue had written a letter before attempting suicide, asking what had happened to the Congress’s promises,” KTR said and asked, “Where is Rahul Gandhi when students are attempting suicide here in Telangana?” He also criticized CM Revanth Reddy for referring to engineers as “criminal waste.”KTR described the alleged suicide note as a “charge sheet” against the govt’s incompetent administration. He appealed to unemployed youth not to take such extreme steps. He promised that if his party returned to power, it would fill vacant govt jobs and urged young people not to lose hope.He further alleged that Rahul Gandhi had merely posed as a supporter of student protests while remaining silent over Revanth Reddy’s remarks about engineers. KTR said Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy lacked the courage to face students and answer their questions. He accused Rahul Gandhi of reacting strongly to police baton charges in opposition-ruled states while ignoring similar incidents in Congress-ruled states. KTR added that many people were hurt by the CM’s comments about engineers.Finding fault with the CM for making remarks on engineers, KTR asked the CM who had built Hyderabad’s flyovers, who had implemented reverse pumping from Yellampalli, and who had constructed the Command Control Centre where the Chief Minister now sits, answering that all these achievements belonged to engineers.ends/
