Cigarettes worth Rs 50,000 stolen from salesman’s scooter outside bakery in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A five-minute stop cost a cigarette salesman Rs 50,000 after thieves made away with a bag of cigarette packs and bills from his scooter outside a bakery in LR Bande, north Bengaluru. The victim had parked his vehicle while making a delivery when the bag was stolen by the miscreants.According to the complaint filed by Suresh G, 56, a resident of Madanayakanahali, he earns his livelihood by collecting cigarette stock from SG Traders in Dasarahalli and supplying it to retail shops across the city. On July 28, he collected cigarette (Marlboro) packs from the company and set out on his scooter to retailers.Around 2.50pm, he stopped at Ganesh Bakery on LR Bande Main Road in Kaval Byrasandra to make a sale. When he returned five minutes later, he was shocked to find the bag containing cigarette cartons and bills stolen from his scooter. A case has been registered under BNS section 303 (theft) and CCTV footage has been verified to ascertain clues about the thieves.
