Jaipur: The 42nd Sub-Junior National Aquatic Championships will take place from August 6 to 9, 2026, at the SMS Stadium Swimming Pool in Jaipur. The five-day event is organised by the Rajasthan Swimming Association under the aegis of Swimming Federation of India.Around 550 swimmers from 33 states, including hosts Rajasthan, will participate in this prestigious national competition. Rajasthan is hosting the major swimming event after a long gap of 16 years. In 2010, Rajasthan hosted the Senior National Aquatics Championships.Anil Vyas, president of the Rajasthan Swimming Association, informed on Saturday that the annual nationals will feature 44 individual and 8 relay events. A total of 156 medals, including 52 gold medals, will be at stake.He shared that Rajasthan’s 8-member squad will participate in the competition. Host swimmers will present their challenge for medals in a total of 17 events.Former state minister Lalchand Kataria has been made the chairperson of the organising committee. Kataria said, “This year, the Swimming Federation of India has entrusted Rajasthan with hosting the national championship. Our effort will be to hold the event and offer hospitality that sets an example, making it a memorable experience for swimmers and officials coming from across the country.”

He further stated that Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and sports minister Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore have been invited for the opening ceremony of the competition.
