Hyderabad: After witnessing widespread heavy rainfall over the past week, Telangana experienced a sharp drop in rain activity on Saturday, bringing an end to the wet spell that had drenched several districts. The state recorded an average rainfall of just 0.1 mm, against the normal of 8.8 mm, marking a 99% deficit for the day. The cumulative rainfall from June 1 to July 14 stands at 175 mm, which is 23% below normal.Most districts, including Hyderabad, recorded no measurable rainfall, although the city witnessed brief light showers in a few localities. Despite the dry spell, a handful of districts continue to remain in the normal rainfall category for the season, including Adilabad (+7%), Kumuram Bheem Asifabad (+3%), Nagarkurnool (-4%), Wanaparthy (-4%), Jogulamba Gadwal (-5%) and Mahabubnagar (-8%). However, several other districts, including Hyderabad, continue to remain in the deficient rainfall category.Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a partly cloudy sky for Hyderabad, with light rain or drizzle likely in parts of the city for next 48 hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 32°C and 24°C, respectively.
