Randeep, Ananya put boots on ground to bring relief to flood-hit families in Assam

Dibrugarh: Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda on Saturday headed to flood-ravaged Sivasagar to support affected residents.Ananya Birla, daughter of industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla, has also been providing aid to flood-affected residents in upper Assam.Speaking after landing at Dibrugarh airport, Hooda said, “There has been a heavy loss of life and property. We have come here to extend our help. The Global Sikhs Foundation is already here and is working to assist the flood victims. We will also extend our support by providing relief materials and other necessary assistance.”Hooda then left for Sivasagar, around 80 kilometres away, to visit some of the worst-hit areas before relief operations were scaled up.The actor has a long-standing association with Global Sikhs, a humanitarian organisation involved in disaster relief and rehabilitation across the country. His visit is aimed at expressing solidarity with flood-hit families and drawing wider attention to the crisis in upper Assam.Global Sikhs volunteers have been distributing food, drinking water and essential supplies to displaced families in Sivasagar and Charaideo for several days.Ananya Birla has been providing aid to flood-affected upper Assam residents for the past three days. She arrived with volunteers from the Ananya Birla Foundation.Khalsa Aid International, Aashray Foundation, Sachkhand Foundation and Serving Happiness have also launched relief operations, using boats and pickup trucks to reach communities cut off by floodwaters.
