Mulugu: A 14-year-old girl was found to be pregnant in a village in Mulugu district, prompting an investigation by the police and child protection authorities.The incident came to light after the minor complained of stomach pain and fever. She was taken to a private hospital by her grandmother for a medical examination on Thursday, during which doctors confirmed that she was four months pregnant.According to police, the girl subsequently disclosed that she had been subjected to repeated sexual abuse by her 52-year-old grandfather several months ago. She also alleged that she had been threatened against revealing the abuse by the accused.Following the disclosure, police and child protection officials intervened and shifted the girl to a safe location. A case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, and an investigation is underway.Police said the accused has been booked under relevant provisions of the law. Authorities are providing support and counselling to the child.
