Jaipur: Uttar Pradesh boys and girls emerged as champions in the Sixth National Tennis Ball Cricket Championship, organised by the Rajasthan Tennis Ball Cricket Association, which concluded at the historic Chaugan Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday.Eleven men’s teams and seven women’s outfits from across the country participated in the three-day annual tournament.In an exciting final, Uttar Pradesh edged out hosts Rajasthan by 9 runs to clinch the title. The third spot was claimed by Maharashtra.

The girls title was also won by Uttar Pradesh defeating Tamil Nadu in the summit clash. Jammu & Kashmir finished third.During the closing ceremony, Rajasthan Tennis Ball Cricket Association president Mohammad Munshi Khan, secretary Shoaib Khan, Salim Khan and Manzoor Baig honoured the guests with traditional turbans (safa) and mementos.International singer Seemeshwar Mahadevan attended the closing ceremony of the All India Tennis Ball Cricket Championship as the chief guest, while social activist and businessman Manohar Lal Gupta presided over the event.
