Noida: Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) will appoint a consultant to prepare an Electrical Master Plan 2041, laying out a long-term roadmap for power infrastructure across its notified area. The plan will assess the existing electricity network, forecast demand till 2041 and recommend measures.With Noida International Airport now operational and the region witnessing rapid industrialisation, the YEIDA area is expected to see considerable growth in aviation, logistics, manufacturing, warehousing and urban development, and electricity demand.According to officials, the project will be carried out in phases, beginning with a baseline assessment of the existing electrical infrastructure through field surveys, GIS mapping, stakeholder consultations and demand analysis. The consultant will then prepare a Vision 2041 strategy, followed by an implementation plan and a draft electrical master plan before the final report is submitted.The study will estimate electricity demand for major developments planned in the region — including semiconductor manufacturing units, electronics clusters, data centres, logistics hubs, warehousing, medical device parks, MSMEs, residential and commercial sectors, airport infrastructure and the proposed RRTS corridor.The consultant will also recommend future transmission and distribution networks, substations and utility corridors required to meet projected demand. The hired agency will prepare an EV charging master plan, battery energy storage strategy, smart grid architecture, renewable energy integration plan and carbon neutrality strategy. It will identify suitable locations for substations, prepare GIS-based utility maps and carry out detailed power system studies using recognised industry software.“The aim is to promote clean and reliable electricity systems. This includes increasing the use of low-carbon and renewable energy sources, reducing carbon emissions and pollutants, lowering electricity consumption, and setting a pathway towards carbon neutrality,” an official said.Officials said they also aim to ensure the delivery of high-quality power by maintaining low frequency and duration of outages, while improving operational flexibility and reducing vulnerabilities to enhance the overall resilience of the power grid during unforeseen failures and emergencies.
