Rewari: The Rewari District Bar Association on Monday warned of a statewide boycott of judicial work if the Haryana govt failed to act on its demand for the transfer of the local SDM, as lawyers’ strike entered its eighth day.The association has announced a protest march through Rewari on Tuesday, after which it will decide its future course. It warned that if there is no breakthrough, bar associations across Haryana would be urged to suspend work in solidarity.Bar association president Vishwamitra Yadav said lawyers had exhausted all democratic avenues, including submitting memorandums to health minister Aarti Rao, Union minister Rao Inderjit Singh, the local MLA and the chief minister through the deputy commissioner.“This is no longer just about the transfer of one officer. It is a fight for the dignity of the legal profession and the integrity of the justice delivery system,” Yadav said.Rewari deputy commissioner Abhishek Meena said the lawyers’ memorandum had been forwarded to the state government. He added that the government had directed the administration to send the SDM on 15-day leave and indicated that another officer would be posted in his place, though no formal appointment orders had been issued.
