Bengaluru: In one of the biggest mobile phone recovery drives in recent times, Whitefield division police found 1,119 lost and stolen mobile phones worth about Rs 2.7 crore, bringing relief to victims who had reported their devices missing on Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal.The month-long special drive involved a 15-member police team that verified CEIR complaints and tracked devices across Bengaluru, other parts of Karnataka, and several other states. Their coordinated efforts led to te recovery of the phones, a senior police officer said.Among police stations in the division, KR Pura recovered the highest number of devices (187), followed by Marathahalli (145), Whitefield (140), Mahadevapura (132), and Varthur (120). Kadugodi and HAL police recovered 110 phones each, Bellandur (103), Avalahalli (70) and Whitefield cybercrime police (2).
