Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Minister (Independent Charge) JPS Rathore on Sunday announced that the state govt will revive defunct cooperative training centres to strengthen the cooperative sector and create new employment opportunities for youth.Rathore said chief minister Yogi Adityanath has prioritised comprehensive reforms in the cooperative sector by strengthening cooperative banks and Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS). As part of this initiative, closed cooperative training centres, many of which fell into disrepair due to years of mismanagement, are being renovated and brought back into operation with financial assistance from the state govt.The minister said Rs 4.71 crore has been released for the Cooperative Training Centre in Varanasi and Rs 7.81 crore for the centre in Ayodhya.

The govt has also approved Rs 3.93 crore for Meerut, Rs 1.61 crore for Mahoba and Rs 5.19 crore for Etawah to upgrade their training facilities.Rathore said the establishment of the Ministry of Cooperation by the Centre five years ago under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accelerated cooperative activities across the country, creating a growing demand for skilled manpower.He further said the revived training centres will offer diploma programmes in cooperative leadership development and business management, equipping young people with the skills required to support and expand the cooperative movement while enhancing their employment prospects.
