Hyderabad: In a move aimed at boosting revenues and strengthening the state’s finances, the cabinet sub-committee on resource mobilisation headed by deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Saturday decided to fast track land monetisation and land pooling initiatives across Telangana.At a meeting held at the Secretariat, the committee reviewed a comprehensive plan prepared by officials for the effective utilisation of govt land assets under the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority limits. Officials were directed to identify new opportunities for land pooling by adopting transparent models on the lines of the Uppal Bhagayath project.District collectors of Rangareddy, Medchal Malkajgiri and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri were specifically asked to identify govt land parcels and examine the feasibility of land pooling in their respective districts.

The committee also directed officials to focus on generating additional revenue in line with budget requirements and ensure targets are achieved to accelerate the state’s financial growth.IT and industries minister D Sridhar Babu attended the meeting, which explored various avenues for enhancing revenue mobilisation.Bhatti stressed that resource mobilisation efforts should be aligned with the budget estimates for the 2026-27 financial year and that all available revenue sources must be fully leveraged to meet the targets. He instructed officials to strictly adhere to timelines and intensify efforts to increase revenue generation.Calling for greater inter-departmental coordination, Bhatti said concerted efforts were needed to further strengthen the state’s financial position.The committee reviewed the performance of key revenue-generating departments, including municipal administration and urban development, HMDA, industries, excise, mining, revenue, transport, stamps and registration, and commercial taxes.Officials were also issued clear guidelines on the revenue targets to be achieved in the coming months.
