Rajkot: A newlywed woman was allegedly murdered by her husband with a sharp weapon on Thursday night, following a domestic dispute, said police.The victim, Varsha Kachetiya, was alleged attacked by her husband, Manish Khachetiya, at their house near Mahaprabhuji’s Bethak in Jamnagar. According to the complaint registered by the Varsha’s brother Parsottam Sonagara at Jamnagar City ‘A’ Division police station, the killing took place around 1am.Sonagara told police his sister had married the accused on Feb 13 . He alleged that his brother-in-law displayed intense dislike towards his sister days after the marriage and subjected her to constant harassment. He added that the accused also frequently quarrelled with her over petty matters.Sonagara said that her sister was struck repeatedly after a fight broke out between the couple. She was rushed to GG Hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. She suffered severe injuries on her head and neck, which appeared to have been inflicted by a sharp agricultural weapon, possibly a sickle.
