Dhubri: A 17-year-old student drowned in the Gadadhar River near Mela Maidam here on Friday morning after she reportedly slipped into the water and was swept away by strong currents.The deceased, identified as Aksara Gowala, was a first-year Higher Secondary student at Sishupathsala Higher Secondary School and a resident of Ward No. 1.Her body was recovered around 11.20am, after nearly an hour of searching.
