TIMES NEWS NETWORKMangaluru: Former minister B Ramanath Rai, condemning the BJP’s treatment of protesting students including Lok Sabha leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi and MP Priyanka Gandhi in Delhi, said that the opposition has every right to question irregularities in the NEET. Addressing reporters on Thursday, Rai condemned the mockery and labelling of protesters as “traitors” for showing solidarity with students facing police action over alleged NEET irregularities. Highlighting the suicide of 21 students due to the NEET paper leak, he criticised authorities for mocking victims, and urged citizens to discuss the scandal openly to understand the govt’s shortcomings. “It is necessary to realize what those who are mocking would have done, if it were their own children among the 21 who died by suicide due to the NEET paper leak,” said Rai, criticising PM Narendra Modi who speaks ‘Mann Ki Baat’ with students.
