Noida: Students in both GB Nagar and Ghaziabad came out with flying colours as both districts moved up in rankings after Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) announced the UP Board results for 2026 on Thursday.In Class 12, Himanshi Sharma of KCS Girls Inter College, Surajpur, topped GB Nagar with 456 marks out of 500 (91.2%), while in Ghaziabad, Timothy Mandal of Maharishi Dayanand Vidyapeeth Inter College topped with 93.4%.Similarly, in Class 10, Devesh Kumar of Seth Tularam Saraswati Vidyamandir, Jewar, topped GB Nagar with 566 marks out of 600, or 94.3% while Ayan Khan of Maharishi Dayanand Vidyapeeth topped Class 10 with 95.3% in Ghaziabad.In GB Nagar, the Class 10 ranking rose sharply from 31st position last year to eighth this year. The district recorded a pass percentage of 93.4%, up from 91.1% in 2025. In Class 12 too, the district improved its ranking, climbing to 12th place with a pass percentage of 86.5%, up from 14th last year at 85.6%.A total of 21,587 students from GB Nagar appeared for the Class 10 examination, of whom 20,181 cleared the test. In Class 12, 19,502 students appeared and 16,972 passed.In Ghaziabad, the Class 10 ranking improved from 19th position in 2025 to 13th this year. The district recorded a pass percentage of 92.9%, marginally higher than 92.5% last year. However, the figure remained below the 94.3% recorded in 2024.For Class 12, Ghaziabad retained its eighth rank in the state despite a dip in pass percentage. The district posted an 87.2% pass rate this year compared with 88.5% in 2025.A total of 27,176 students from Ghaziabad appeared in Class 10, with 25,254 passing the examination. In Class 12, 24,471 students appeared and 21,349 cleared the board exams.Among the district toppers in GB Nagar for Class 12, Himanshi Sharma of KCS Girls Inter College, Surajpur, secured first position with 456 marks out of 500, translating to 91.2%. Gaurangi of Mihir Bhoj Girls Inter College stood second with 448 marks, or 89.6%, while Guriya Kumar of Dayawati Memorial Inter College secured third place with 445 marks, or 89%.Similarly, in Ghaziabad, Timothy Mandal of Maharishi Dayanand Vidyapeeth Inter College topped Class 12 with 93.4%. The second position was jointly secured by Vishesh of Govt Ordnance Factory Inter College, Muradnagar, and Hiba Fatma of Maharishi Dayanand Vidyapeeth, both scoring 451 marks, or 90.2%. Nishu Kumari of Maharishi Dayanand Vidyapeeth secured third place with 88.6%.Among the district toppers in GB Nagar for Class 10, Devesh Kumar of Seth Tularam Saraswati Vidyamandir, Jewar, topped the district with 566 marks out of 600, or 94.3%. Rishika Kumari of SBS Inter College secured second place with 93.1%. The third position was jointly shared by Hari Om of SRS Inter College and Pawan Singh of Nagar Public School, both scoring 93%.In Ghaziabad, Ayan Khan of Maharishi Dayanand Vidyapeeth topped Class 10 with 95.3%. Rashika, also from the same school, secured second place with 91.8%, while Swati Kumari of BRS Convent School stood third with 91.5%.“The district focused on teacher training and timely assessment of students for the board examination. We aim to top the state in coming days,” said Rajesh Kumar Singh, DIOS, GB Nagar.
