Palanpur: The Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Mehsana police has detected a Rs 64 lakh robbery and arrested two accused who carried out the heist of cash from the victim who had fell into their overseas job promise trap. . Police arrested Vishansinh Rathod of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, recovering Rs 14 lakh and the car used in the crime. During interrogation, he revealed the involvement of Bhavesh Valand of Tarsali, Vadodara, who was also arrested and Rs 10 lakh recovered from him.Police said the accused had cheated the complainant by promising overseas jobs in Australia for his son and associate Mukesh Vanzara. After gaining their trust through repeated phone conversations, the duo arranged flight tickets from Ahmedabad to Delhi and asked the victims to bring Rs 64 lakh as processing fees for the job arrangement.When the victims reached Radhe Guest House in Delhi on April 19, two men threatened them with a pistol and fled with the cash.Both accused have offences of cheating registered against them.Following the robbery complaint registered at Vasai police station on April 20, LCB teams launched an investigation using technical surveillance and CCTV footage. Investigators traced a Swift Dzire without a number plate seen near the crime scene, which was later identifiedPolice said several other accused from Rajasthan, Anand and Malaysia remain absconding.
