Times News NetworkLudhiana: A 26-year-old resident of Joshi Nagar was allegedly attacked by a group of men while standing outside his house. The victim, Kunal, sustained multiple injuries. He claimed to have received 26 stitches on his head, besides wounds on his arms and other body parts.Kunal alleged that the assailants also fired gunshots in the air before escaping. He said local residents later found two empty bullet shells from the spot, which were handed over to the police.According to Kunal, some of the accused are known history-sheeters with criminal backgrounds. He claimed that he was earlier friends with them but distanced himself after they allegedly pressured him to cut ties with certain youngsters with whom they had disputes. When he refused, the relationship turned hostile and the accused allegedly started holding a grudge against him.Kunal further alleged that around 10 days ago, the same group had attacked his house and he had lodged a complaint with the police. However, he claimed that no action was taken at the time.SHO, Haibowal police station, Inspector Kulwant Kaur, said police are recording the victim’s statement and initiating legal proceedings.
