Itanagar: The office of the chief electoral officer (CEO), Arunachal Pradesh, on Tuesday published the draft electoral roll under Phase III of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026. The exercise aims to include all eligible citizens and remove ineligible entries transparently, an official statement said.As per official figures, of the 8,87,505 electors registered in the state as on June 2, more than 7.18 lakh submitted enumeration forms before the July 14 deadline.A total of 1,69,459 enumeration forms — 19.09% of the electorate — were marked uncollectable. This includes 25,573 deceased voters (2.88%), 54,678 untraceable/absent voters (6.16%), 78,980 who have permanently shifted (8.9%), 4,947 duplicate entries (0.56%) and 5,281 in other categories (0.6%).Arunachal Pradesh joint chief electoral officer Liken Koyu said claims and objections can be filed from July 21 to Aug 20. Eligible electors who missed the enumeration phase can still apply for inclusion. The election office said no name will be deleted from the draft roll without due notice and a speaking order by the electoral registration officer or assistant electoral registration officer.Citizens who turn 18 on or before July 1 have been encouraged to enrol using Form-6 along with a mandatory declaration form. Help desks, special camps and volunteer teams have been set up across the state to assist senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PwDs) and vulnerable groups.Electors can check the draft roll on the state CEO portal the National Voters’ Service portal, the ECINET mobile app, or through booth level officers (BLOs). For corrections, additions or deletions, voters can submit Forms 6, 6A, 7 or 8 online or through their BLOs.On Tuesday, CEO Pawan Kumar Sain also met representatives of recognised political parties in Itanagar to share the enumeration findings and hand over copies of the draft roll. He directed district election officers to hold similar consultations with local party representatives, issue press statements and provide weekly updates on claims and objections during the revision period.
