LUCKNOW: More than six schoolchildren were injured after two school vehicles collided head-on in Uttar Pradesh’s Raebareli district on Monday morning.One student sustained a fractured leg and was referred to the District Hospital, while the remaining injured children are undergoing treatment at the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Bela Bhela.The accident occurred near Bela Bhela under the Bhadokhar police station limits when a school bus belonging to Satyanarayani Inter College, Dariyapur, collided head-on with a Magic school van of Leo Convent School, Uttarpara.The impact of the collision was severe, leaving several children travelling in both vehicles injured and triggering panic at the scene.Hearing the cries of the children, local villagers rushed to the spot and immediately launched rescue efforts. They helped evacuate the injured students and transported them to CHC Bela Bhela for medical treatment.Police also reached the scene shortly after receiving information and took control of the situation.Among the injured, Arsh, 14, a Class IV student of Leo Convent School, suffered a fractured leg. After receiving first aid at the CHC, he was referred to the District Hospital for specialised treatment.District hospital emergency medical officer Dr Roshan Patel confirmed that the student is undergoing treatment.Several students from Satyanarayani Inter College, including Vijay Lakshmi, 12, a Class IX student, Ragini, 14, and Moni Agrahari, were also injured in the collision.They are currently being treated at CHC Bela Bhela.Family members of the injured children rushed to the hospital after learning about the accident, creating anxious scenes at the medical facility.Police have seized both damaged school vehicles and initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the collision.Officials said the circumstances leading to the accident are being examined, and appropriate legal action will be taken based on the findings of the probe.
